Our Favorite Fall Activities in Orlando

Every season is the perfect season to visit Orlando, but we have to admit to holding a special place in our hearts for fall. This is when the heat dies down, (just a bit) the magazine ads start selling the corduroys and sweaters we will probably never use, and just as in the cooler states, pumpkin spice makes it debut! Yes, we still spend Saturdays lounging by our pools and the clothes we wear do not change, but the vibe of Florida never really changes. Pick a Peck of Pumpkins, Mick Farms, 4261 Canoe Creek Road in Saint Cloud

Mick Farms is an actual working farm located in the town of St. Cloud, just about a half hour’s drive outside of Orlando. Offering a farm stand that sells delicious produce year-round, in mid-October they open their fields to the public, allowing guests to actually pick their favorite pumpkins right off the vine! Estimated pumpkin opening day this year is in October, giving you and your family an authentic farm experience. Mark it on your calendars, wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty, your most comfortable walking shoes, and prepare for a day to remember!

Cow’s and Cabs Fundraising Event in Winter Park

This worthy event lasts only one night, but it offers tastings of meals prepared by 25 Orlando gourmet restaurants, with the proceeds going to benefit children’s charities in Central Florida. Also offering sips of over 200 wines, beers, and hand-crafted cocktails, this night of denim, cowboy boots, and awesome food and drinks is guaranteed to be a special evening you will wish goes on forever! Named for a giant oak tree that survived a lightning strike that split it in half, the Split Oak Forest Wildlife and Environmental Area offers a breathtaking look at the natural beauty of the Florida landscape. Enjoy cooler temperatures as you hike along the 9+ miles of trails and paths that take you close to the wildlife, and as you spot beautiful flowers and the ethereal butterflies flitting from bloom to bloom, take a few minutes to just breathe. Every season is the right season for a craft beer, and Orlando Brewing might just have a pumpkin porter that you will fall in love with! Also featuring their version of Oktoberfest, held in September, the event will be held outside to help guests celebrate safely as they eat German food, listen to live music, play games, and, of course, drink plenty of ice-cold German beer! Orlando Brewing always has an event going on, no matter what time of year you choose to visit, so if you miss out on Oktoberfest, purchase a couple of tasting tours and sip your way through the delicious maze of specialty brews.
