Fall Journey to Orlando

HomeOrlando JourneysFall Journey to Orlando

The summer months in Orlando can get really hot, and the winter months can be really crowded, but in the fall, our city somehow manages to combine the perfect temperatures with the fewest crowds, making it the ideal time to visit! Tropical Villas Orlando invites travelers to take a fall journey with us, discovering all the ways you can play, all the places you can explore, and of course, all the ways you can relax, starting with a stay in any of our seasonal sanctuaries! This guide to fun fall activities in Orlando will help you fill every moment of your stay with all the activities that will lead to the greatest of memories.

Day 1: Regain Your Bearings

Chances are Florida is more than a few hours of travel time away from your hometown, and by the time you get here, your energy levels will be pretty low. But after you choose your room, unpack your luggage, and explore your surroundings, we have a feeling your empty stomach will start making its presence known, and although we are home to some pretty sweet seafood restaurants, tonight, we suggest pizza! Pizza is an easy meal, you can order it delivered, pick up something to carry home, or head out to Anthony’s Thornton Park for a casually delicious pie that will certainly become your new obsession! Located at 100 N Summerlin Avenue and serving NY style pies that will sate any hunger, its casual ambience will provide the perfect welcoming to your first night in paradise.

Day 2: Not Your Ordinary Walk in the Park

Orlando is known as the “Theme Park Capital of the World,” offering more than a dozen different park adventures to explore, and on your first full day in Orlando, your kiddos are not going to accept anything less than a day at Disney, Universal, or the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Put on your walking shoes, grab an extra credit card or two, and begin the adventure your kids have dreamed about their entire lives. Fall weather ensures the temperatures won’t be too hot and that the lines won’t be as long as they can be during the summer, and as you and your family gather autographs at Disney, ride the Hogwarts Express, or enter Men in Black training at Universal Orlando, maybe your own childhood dreams will be coming true as well during these fun fall events in Orlando!

Day 3: Country Thunder

The nation’s largest country music festival comes to Kissimmee every October, providing three days of live music, good food, and cold beverages and is generally held the third weekend in October. Held at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, this music festival offers the opportunity to view all your favorite country superstars, and although you could camp for the few days they are in town, being able to come home to air conditioning, soft beds, and running water makes the Country Thunder experience all that more wonderful!

Day 4: Nothing but Net!

Fall is when our hometown team starts playing again, and even if the Orlando Magic is not the team you follow, there is always a possibility that your team will be playing our team during your stay! The Amway Center, located at 400 West Church Street, is where the magic happens, and as you watch the big game live and in person, sipping a cold beer, eating a hotdog, and cheering on either team, your happiness levels will reach new heights!

Day 5: It’s Christmas Every Day!

The nearby town of Christmas is home to Orlando Wetlands Park and over 2000 feet of boardwalk, giving adventurers the perfect spot to enjoy a hike through nature. Built to go over the water where all nature’s most interesting creatures make their home, you can walk on your own, keeping your camera on a swivel because there are always things to snap, or request a Reserved Tour. Taking guests through the journey of a water droplet is one of the most fascinating fall activities in Orlando and is free for groups of up to 10 people.

Day 6: Orlando’s Magical Dining Month

Taking place from the last week of August through the first week of October, Orlando’s Magical Dining Month offers an epicurean adventure you will never forget. Let’s face it, some of our happiest moments on vacation are the ones in which we are enjoying a taste of the town, and this month-plus-long event offers the opportunity to taste the top haute cuisine in town! Choose any or all of the participating restaurants (The list changes yearly, but past restaurants have included Four Flamingos and Deep Blu Seafood Grille!) and enjoy the prixe fixe dinner menu of the restaurant that you chose.

Day 7: Must You Leave So Soon?

Time flies when you’re having fun, and the last day of your Orlando fall journey is destined to come all too quickly. Before you know it, your bags will be packed, your rental car will be loaded, and you will be on your way to the airport to fly away home. But before you do, be sure to get in a delicious breakfast at the Maple Street Biscuit Co, being sure to eat hardy in preparation for your travels! Located at 1110 Glass House Lane and offering an amazing menu of your breakfast favorites, it will help fill the empty spot that has grown in your heart now that you have to leave paradise.
