To our fellow sun seekers, the ones who find themselves feeling melancholy when the days begin to grow shorter, the kids go back to school, and the big holidays are looming ever closer, we invite you to visit the land where summer springs eternal. Don’t get us wrong, we at Tropical Villas Orlando do love the fall season, when the heat starts to lessen and we can spend even more time playing outside, but the vibe of summer is something special, and if you aren’t ready to say farewell to your favorite season, Orlando is waiting. This guide to fall things to do in Orlando will help you fill every moment with exciting and fascinating adventures.
First, Let’s Talk Weather
Depending on where your hometown lies, when autumn arrives, you are probably needing to wear the sweaters, corduroys, and light jackets that decorate the shelves of all the stores in your area, but in Orlando, fall is just a state of mind. Yes, the mercury drops a little, as does the humidity, but with temperatures that can still reach the 80s and dip down into the 70s at night, guests can still expect to participate in typical summer activities AND will find themselves feeling surprisingly comfortable while visiting the theme parks of the area.
Stocking Your Pantry with a Visit to the Orlando Farmers Market at Lake Eola Park
Getting your children to eat something healthy can be a task of monumental difficulty, but at least you will have a good time hunting out tasty veggies at our Orlando Farmers Market. Held at Lake Eola Park every Sunday from 10 AM until 3 PM, guests can find produce gathered from nearby farms, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, and wine that may have been created and bottled right here in the Sunshine State. Don’t forget to purchase a bag of freshly popped Kettle Corn and because you are there already, why not pencil in a swan peddle boat rental to enjoy on a beautiful fall Sunday.
A Visit with Manatees
As the weather does begin to cool up, the friendly manatees begin to surface even more, congregating in the fresh water springs that surround our central Florida town. As SeaWorld changes its reputation, transforming into an aquarium and putting its efforts towards protecting and healing the creatures of the sea, guests can explore its Manatee Rehabilitation Area and stay close to home, or, if in the mood for a road trip, Venture Outdoors Florida offers a Manatee Discovery Tour at Blue Springs State Park, located just 30 plus miles north of Orlando.
Oktoberfest at Avalon Park
Avalon Park in downtown Orlando is a popular place for visitors anytime of the year, but in mid-October it is the site of one of our favorite fall events, Oktoberfest. Offering two days of fun, festivities, and all the beer you can drink, this event features two stages of live music, an adult beer garden, polka bands, children’s activities (including a bounce park) and food trucks serving a variety of delicious foods. Also offering vendors selling a unique selection of wares, Oktoberfest provides a wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of the season.
Fall on the Farm at Whisper Creek Farm
Even as it feels like summer, Whisper Creek Farm’s Fall on the Farm offers all the traditional seasonal delights that can be expected from a farm, including hayrides, mazes, and pumpkin picking. Also offering pumpkin carving and painting workshops taught by a world champion culinary artist, arts and craft goodies, farm fresh produce that will make the meals you create in our Tropical Villas Orlando kitchens healthy and delicious, and a master falconer showing off the exploits of his falcon, Fall on the Farm is the perfect time to get those updated family photos you have been putting off taking as they are offering a “photography concierge” and souvenir packages that are priced so reasonably they will fit into any vacation budget.
