If Orlando is known as the “Theme Park Capital of the World,” (and it is!) does that make our Tropical Villas Orlando Florida escapes the vacation home rentals that the world wants to reside in? We definitely think it does, and as you begin your journey of theme parks in Orlando, just know that when you leave each park at closing, toting tired toddlers while dealing with aching feet and exhausted brains, you will be coming home to comfort, style, and luxury in the homes that house the most important people in the world, the travelers who are our guests! In the meantime, this guide to the best of the theme parks will help you plan out each day of your getaway.
Walt Disney World
Disney World really is a world of fun, combining four different theme parks to create one world of adventure. The Magic Kingdom known for its Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and its nightly parade and fireworks show is perhaps the one you think about when you imagine a vacation in Orlando. EPCOT center celebrates the world with its four neighborhoods (World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase) as well as offering a selection of memorable rides. Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrates the movies they make, including the most popular part of the park, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where guests can create their own lightsabers and explore the Millenium Falcon. And last but not least, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, bringing the natural serenity of a zoo and the exciting vibe of a theme park together into one great “habitat.”
Universal Orlando
Also offering four separate parks, including the OG Universal Studios which you may remember for its Jaws encounter (sadly, this ride is closed now), among others, but also including Universal Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay, a water park packed with thrills. Universal Islands of Adventure is perhaps best known for being the location of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Jurassic Park, but whichever park you choose to visit we can promise that a good time will be had by all especially when sampling butter beer with Harry or when watching a show at Universal CityWalk. During the fall, Universal Studios is perhaps best known now for its Halloween Horror Nights event.
SeaWorld Orlando
After going through some rough spots in regards to its exploitative reputation, SeaWorld has undergone a transformation, focusing on conservation and protection while still offering thrills for all who visit. It also offers two water parks, Aquatica and Discover Cove, and is famed for its Mako, Infinity Falls, and Pipeline: the Surf Coaster. (All are a type of coasters) Their animal encounters promise to provide memorable experiences as you can watch mother dolphins and babies, dine with Orcas, and explore the inhabitants of the Manatee Rehabilitation Area.
LEGOLAND
Those tiny bricks can be the bane of parent’s existence, especially when stepped on in bare feet in the middle of the night, but LEGOLAND the theme park is a fun family friendly adventure, offering rides that are ideal for your tiny travelers, and of course, offering a selection of Lego sculptures that will make you feel inferior with your own building skills. This park can be explored in all its glory in just one day and is best for travelers with younger children, as tweens and teens may not see its charm once they have grown out of the LEGO building phase.
Peppa Pig Theme Park
Sharing space with LEGOLAND, this next park is one of the Orlando area’s newest ones, having opened its gate in 2022, and one that is definitely geared toward the younger set, bringing to life the magic of the television show. Offering Peppa Pig themed rides, a splash pad, and the opportunity for your kids to meet their favorite characters, watching the larger than life-sized Peppa and friends perform live and in person on a variety of stages throughout the cozy park.
Gatorland
Gatorland, the last of the parks we will be talking about today, offering adventures that are far different from your standard theme park and helping visitors make memories of the wildest kinds. Located at 14501 S Orange Blossom Trail, their Gator Gauntlet Zipline enables visitors to fly above the gators, getting close enough to see them open their mouths while staying far enough away to be safe. Also offering animal encounters that include a petting zoo and shows that display the strength and agility of the cold blooded reptiles that we can’t help but have a soft spot in our hearts for, this park may not be as flashy as the others in the area, but it may be the one that brings you the best memories.
